New Google Maps Sports Mashups

Hockey Mashups:

RinkTour.com - RinkTour is a new Google Maps mashup for all NHL arenas in Canada and the US. It starts with a map of both Canada and the US and lets you drill down to each city to choose the NHL arena. Each arena page has great information and links to the official page to help you get directions. Even better would be a link to Google Maps to help out with this.

RinkAtlas.com - RinkAtlas is a new Google Maps mashup that helps you locate all NHL, AHL, and ECHL rinks rinks in the United States and Canada. It requires you to know the arena, then plug it in. It's missing a browse function that lets you explore all arenas available to be searched. I'd also recommend all CHL arenas. It makes use of Google Maps directions to help you find the arena.

Both of these rink finders, along with the first Google Hockey Map are all missing CHL arenas! :)

Football:

MapGameDay now features more College Football Stadiums:

Richard Crout of MapGameDay.com dropped me a line to let me know that with the recent updates of satellite imagery on Google Maps "a couple of the more storied College Football Stadiums, Michigans Big House, and Alabama's Bryant Denny Stadium are now visible. MapGameDay is an awesome Google Maps mashup to help you find College and Pro Football Team Stadiums on Google Maps. It has loads of features other than just locating the stadium including taggging, sharing and locating ammenities nearby such as tailgates, restaurants, hotels and transportation. It's also just a cool site for the college or NFL fan to explore stadiums from around the country.
