Danish Good Beer Guide on Google Maps

Danish Beer Map

The Danish beer organisation 'Danske Ølentusiaster', who have over 10,000 members, have given 57 bars in Denmark a Diploma in 2010. The Diploma awards bars where bartenders show a good knowledge about the beers they sell, the bars have a good atmosphere and the beers are served in the correct glasses etc.

Microformats.dk has created a Google Map of the bars awarded diplomas to ensure that you can always find a good beer in Denmark. Each bar map marker includes the name and address of the bar. It is also possible to view the Street View of the bar, where available.

The Real Ale Hunter is a directory and Google Map mashup of real ale serving pubs in the UK. The directory holds reviews of over 5000 pubs that sell real ale in the UK and all of them can be found via a Google Map.

It is possible to zoom in on any area of the UK and real ale serving pubs in the current map view will be tagged on the map. Alternatively it is possible to select the option to 'view by town'. This option will zoom the map in on an individual town and that town's pubs.

The pub's in the current view are listed under the map. Each listing has the pub's name and address and a rating for the pub. Some pubs also have more information, such as the number of pumps and information about whether it is listed in the Good Beer Guide.

As beer and brewing traditions vary greatly throughout Europe this website is an essential guide for any beer drinkers planning to undertake a European wide pub crawl.

When the user has selected all the wineries they wish to visit they can drag them around and place them in any order. Once finished it is is possible to get driving directions for the visit. Just get somebody else to drive!

Bud Map

Budweiser American Ale

This year Budweiser have decided to brew a new beer, Budweiser American Ale. The beer is brewed with caramel malted barley and has a 'noticeably citrus aroma'. If that has whetted your appetite you can use the Bud Map to find the nearest bar that serves the ale.

To use the map just enter your zip code and the nearest bars will be shown on the map. The map should help you find the way to your nearest bar - although there are no promises that you will able to find your way home again.

To the Bud Marketing Dept: e-mail me for the forwarding address for my complimentary keg ;)

BeerMapping adds Canuck, Kiwi & Proximity Maps

+=

Jonathan Surratt's wildy popular Beer Mapping Google Maps Mashup Project has added Canadian and New Zealand Breweries/Brewpubs to the already present United States Map:

For those of you in the US, BeerMapping.com also has a list of US Cities that you can explore as well. To ensure quality all submissions are personally verified by Jonathon to prevent duplicates as well as every dive bar and restaurant in the US being added to his database. "I don't want to sound like a snob or anything, but if I were to add every location with bud light on tap, we couldn't actually see the map through all the pins" explains Jonathon.

New Epicenter Beer Map Feature:

A cool addition Jonathon feels proud of is the "Proximity Map" (or epicenter map as he likes to call it). The feature will allow a user to find a location (or enter a geocodable address) and create a custom map based on numerical mileage radius outward from that location/address. Example: Clark Street Ale House - Chicago For an example check out More info on this new feature can be found in this BeerMapping.com blog post and if you want to check out the code for it, look here.

Here are the Jonathon's posts for both the Canuck Beer Map and the Kiwi Beer Map additions.. Be sure to also make use of BeerMapping Mobile!
