The Philippines Flood Hazard Map


Project Noah is a new Google Maps based flood hazard warning map from the Philippines' National Operational Assessment of Hazards and Risks (NOAH).

The map includes a number of weather layers. It is possible to view an animated radar layer from MTSAT. It is also possible to get the latest stream and rain gauge readings from across the country. If you want to know the current weather in the Philippines you can also select to view the Weather Outlook layer on the map.

N Korean Rocket Debris on Google Maps


In April North Korea is planning to launch a rocket to put a satellite into orbit. Debris from the second stage of North Korea's rocket is expected to fall just east of Luzon in the Philippines.

Philippines television network ABS-CBN has created a Google Map to show where the debris from the rocket is likely to fall.

Accompanying the map is information about where debris from the first stage of the rocket is expected to land (in waters west of South Korea).

The Untamed Philippines on Google Maps


The Untamed Philippines is a tourist guide to the Philippines. Google Maps are used throughout the site to help users explore and find interesting locations throughout the country.

The 'Places' tab is a good place to start discovering interesting destinations in the Philippines. This map allows the user to explore points of interest in a number of different categories, for example 'churches', 'museums' and 'restaurants'.

Many more Google Maps can be found throughout The Untamed Philippines website, exploring all aspects of Philippine life and culture. The 'Explore' tab allows the user to find Google Maps and Google Earth browser tours in a number of different categories.

Philippines Real-Estate on Google Maps

Haybol - Real Estate Search

Haybol is a Google Maps based real-estate search engine for the Philippines.

Using the site's simple search feature it is possible to search for property by location and find nearby homes on a Google Map. It is also possible to view the results of a search in list form. The map includes buttons to filter the returned search results by rent, foreclosure or sale.

If you click on an individual map marker you can read the full details for the selected property, including the price and the seller's contact details.

Photos of the Philippines on Google Maps

Discover Panay

Discover Panay is a Google Map that showcases a beautiful collection of photographs of the Philippines island of Panay. The map currently contains over 1,000 photographs.

If you click on a map marker then the selected photograph will open in a large window. As you pan and zoom the map thumbnails of the photographs within your current map view will also automatically load into the map sidebar. It is also possible to browse the photographs by tags.

Help for Typhoon Ondoy Victims

Google Typhoon Ondoy Landing Page

Google have released a landing page for people seeking information about Typhoon Ondoy, which has caused severe flooding in the Philippines. The site compiles relevant information about the disaster, including a volunteer-maintained map of persons needing rescue and a list of relief organizations accepting donations.

The Google Map is being maintained by a group of volunteer map makers. The map documents flood updates and persons needing rescue.

The map includes a form which you can complete if you know someone who needs help urgently or if you would like to report the status of the flood in your area. The information from the form gets sent to the group's main database for posting on the map.
