Here is a mashup of Google Maps New Zealand satellite views and a database from Land Information New Zealand. This Google Maps powered map tool lets you search for New Zealand place names, buildings, bridges and other mapped items. It also provides some starting points to some of the best New Zealand locations: Mount Taranaki, Franz Josef Glacier or the Auckland Harbour Bridge! This is the first use of the Google Maps API I've seen in New Zealand and it makes for a great web-based maps explorer to one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Let's hope this is the start of more Google Maps mashups to come from New Zealand! Update: Check out GeoNames for more New Zealand Google Maps based information!
