Updates to Google Maps Mashups and Tools

WeShallRise.org + Yahoo! Traffic - WeShallRise is a website/mashup that is helping the city of New Orleans get back on its feet by providing information and locations for businesses and community services that are opening back up. This site has just informed me that they have used the Yahoo! traffic API to provide updates for construction and traffic events. It's hard to believe that following the images we all saw on t.v. that there are now traffic reports. It can only be a good thing.

MyGuestMap Service has moved - The popular free "My Guest Map" service that allows visitors to post a marker on a Google Map for their world location has moved. You can now find the service at: http://www.mapservices.org/myguestmap - The service at this new location should run much faster.

..Be sure to zoom in on my Guest Map and tell me where you're reading Google Maps Mania from!

Paste a Google Maps to your website using Tagzania - Tagzania is a cool Google Maps powered site that lets you place tags on locations all over the world for others to see. Tagzania has added functionality that allows you to paste the Google Map you've created to your own website or blog. For more details, check out the Tagzania blog for more information.

One other update to mention: Walk.Jog.Run.net has added Google Earth integration. You can browse Google Earth and it pulls the running routes available on the image you are looking at. You have the ability to "play tour" and actually see a fly through of the route as you weave between buildings and along paths. WalkJogRun is a great Google Maps tool that lets you look up and index exercise routes for locations all over the world!

Do you have a mashup that you'd like to announce updates on? If so, post an announcement here..
