Engadget has
posted about an interesting "physical" Google Maps hack that Alexei Karpenko (aka
natrium42) has created using the
Nintendo DS, a home-grown serial interface that he designed and
this GPS module. The maps get downloaded from the Google Maps servers using some scripts that he has written, then the individual tiles (GIF images) are then displayed on the DS unit.
